Tree Ring Digital is seeking a capable, self-motivated Digital Marketing Specialist to take ownership of paid advertising and reporting across our client base. This is a hands-on role for a well-rounded marketer who can run ad accounts, make sense of the data, and turn it into clear direction for clients without needing to be managed through every step.
You’ll be the person who owns paid media from setup through ongoing management, builds and delivers the monthly reporting that keeps clients informed, handles keyword research, and oversees that our SEO, analytics, and tracking are set up correctly and working. A great fit understands how different marketing efforts drive different results across clients and industries, writes solid ad copy, and is comfortable wearing several hats in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for someone who takes real ownership of their accounts rather than waiting for tasks to be handed to them.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Paid Media & Campaign Management:
- Own setup, management, and optimization of paid ad accounts across multiple clients
- Write clear, effective ad copy tailored to each client and audience
- Monitor campaign performance and recommend tweaks to keep accounts hitting their goals
- Manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously without dropping details
Reporting & Analytics:
- Build and deliver monthly marketing reports and answer client questions on performance
- Interpret analytics data and translate it into clear, actionable insights
- Verify and maintain access to Google Analytics, Search Console, and ad platforms for each client
- Ensure Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking are set up correctly and firing as expected
SEO & Marketing Support:
- Conduct keyword research to guide content and optimization efforts
- Oversee SEO execution handled by the team and keep efforts on track
- Assist with content, ad copy, and on-page optimization as needed
- Support marketing and industry research and contribute to internal marketing efforts
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5 years of digital marketing experience, with hands-on paid media management
- Proficiency in Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and keyword research
- Solid ad copywriting and general marketing copy skills
- Experience pulling, interpreting, and presenting performance reports
Ability to:
- Own client accounts end to end and take initiative without close direction
- Interpret data and clearly explain what it means and what to do about it
- Manage multiple clients and priorities while meeting deadlines consistently
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team
- Learn new tools and platforms quickly and adopt what works

What This Role Is NOT:
This is a paid media and analytics ownership role, not a content or design production role. You will not be creating videos or reels, and heavy graphic design is not part of the job. You also won’t be the one running our manual audits. Success here is owning ad accounts and reporting cleanly and reliably, and being the person clients and the team can trust to keep performance on track. If you’re looking primarily for a creative or design-focused role, this likely isn’t the right fit.
What We Offer the Right Candidate:
This is a contract position offering $35-45/hour depending on experience, with hours that grow as you take ownership of accounts. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while being part of a supportive, professional team.
Our standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5:30 PM MST for client calls and team meetings, but you can complete your work anytime as long as deadlines are met. You’ll have access to our collaborative tools including Slack, Google Workspace, and our project management systems.
